Designing a brand-new game to showcase at the Spurlock Museum in just three weeks felt like a daunting challenge for our group. We had complete creative freedom to design any type of game, but given the tight timeline, we were encouraged to draw inspiration from existing games to streamline the process.
After brainstorming, we created a political role-playing debate game inspired by the infamous Cards Against Humanity. At the museum exhibit, the players absolutely loved it. Watching them laugh, argue, try impressions, debate, and, most importantly, have fun was an incredibly rewarding experience.
In the following class, we had the privilege of receiving feedback from Brian Schmit, a seasoned and accomplished game designer. To our delight, he had no critiques and praised our game as exactly the kind of concept with commercial potential. He described it as a perfect blend of humor, politics, and playful argumentation—a light-hearted yet thought-provoking party game that truly resonated with players.
A more polished product and corresponding product photography is coming soon.
